"The signature pork chop on spaghetti, which my dad got and wasn’t in the picture, lives up to the reputation. Was very crispy, juicy, tender, flavourful, and delicious especially for the low price (relative to other places nowadays) as expected of a typical cha chaan teng. I got the sweet corn sauce fish on rice, and made it a combo for 3 extra dollars which added a drink, soup, and dessert. The lemon tea was typical, soup was typical, but the mango pudding was quite good compared to more expensive chinese restaurants I’ve had. Mains were good, but the free included dessert that was also pretty good is what made it hard to decide between 4 or 5 stars. The fish here is very good, one of the best corn sauce fish rice I’ve had in a Chinese restaurant. Fish was cooked nicely and unlike a lot of places, the sauce was decently thick and not watery and runny, plus kept its crispiness quite well despite being drowned in sauce. Atmosphere is a standard Chinese cafe like place so nothing special but that’s fine, the most important part of food is the taste. Service was the standard quick prompt service that’s expected in Chinese establishments both in Canada and China. Price of the food (before taxes and tips) was $14.50 for the tomato sauce pork chop spaghetti, and corn sauce with fish fillet on rice ($12.50 normal price, plus $3.00 to make it a combo). Very good price given the portion size and how expensive dining out is nowadays. All in all, good place if you want a full meal with a drink, dessert, soup, and huge entree that most people can take out and have leftovers for another meal, for a price that won’t leave your wallet crying. Cha chaan teng food won’t win Michelin stars, but it’s simple, comfy, delicious, and won’t make you feel like you over paid for your meal. Which is the whole point of these places, which is done well here. 4 stars is because I care about food most, and there’s another cha chaan teng who’s food I like more, but I’d definitely come to this place again cause its slightly cheaper and (once again), comes with a pretty good dessert on top of it all unlike most cha chaan teng."
